Incest can in SOME cases be a form of abuse, with children being persuaded that it is 'Quite OK' for a parent or elder relative to indulge in sex with them. The word we quote is the amount of 'PRESSURE' put on for them to comply. This can be direst or indirect. Once this has been accepted as being 'OK' the same pattern follows through to adulthood and incest within their own family as they become adult and have children of their own.
<br>Our area of East Anglia in the U.K has 6 times the national average of incest than the rest of the country, I have seen the social consequences and distress caused by this.

| I agree below the age of consent is too young,too many think its ok but the young need to grow and have a life first.

Interesing how people seem fine abusing their kids. Then posting it for everyone else to see? Its a jail term offense and in most cases well deserved (my opinion only of course).

<br>Then again we have seen alot of people getting caught by police recently because they post these things on these sites. All ip addresses logged and traced (because the authorities monitor these sites as it is by far the easiest way to catch pedophiles) and people who are stupid enough to abuse their kids, and then daft enough to brag about it get caught despite their best efforts to use proxy servers etc to cover their tracks.

| My husband told me that he was introduced to sex when he was 6 also, with his cousins, both male and female. He also said that it was an enjoyable experience for him and it went on for quite a while

<br>Another standard we had was that the girls could not have intercourse until they were 12 years of age. Being an open family, they were allowed to sleep with us whenever they desired. I would finger them were they were in the bed. They were allowed the freedom to touch and handle my penis and participate in the act, but not intercourse. At 11 years of age they were allowed to give orals.

| Reflecting as both a parent & grand parent, as the song goes, "......leave the kids alone!" And since, physiologically speaking, the human brain doesn't attain maximum development until approx. age 25, then I vote for >25.

<br>6 is a bit too young in my opinion. my kid was around 14-15 when he started. ther is no fixed age as such.

<br>6 maybe was a bit young....but im in no positions to say cuz i was young to aroing 10/YO lol. in my opinion and coming from an incestial famaly ide say the choice is realy up to you, as the saying goes ur theyr teacher from day one. you choose the tachings.

| Ok.. nothing anywhere that I've found so far even touches on why incest was banned. Pure and simple, so many families intermarried, brothers married sisters, first cousins married, even some widowed fathers married daughters etc. And the result was many babies being born defective, with inherited diseases or negative traits.. This and ONLY this was the reason to ban incest. It was not a moral issue. It was simply a scientific one to decrease the number of children being born with deformities. So please get off your high horses about it being a "sin" or "wrong" or a crime even. It's only in modern times that it has been designated a crime. Are we right? Or were they right?

Children are not sex toys, they are human beings, and have a right to be treated with respect. At least a girl or boy who is in their mid teens has had the opportunity to learn about sex, and all of the responsibility and ramifications that comes with it.
